Sean Dyche and his Burnley players have not had the best of starts as far as the new Premier League season is concerned after failing to win any of their first seven matches on the back of the goalless draw with bottom team Norwich City.

Burnley were favourites to secure victory ahead of the home clash with Norwich City but they were unable to liveup to that status. The Clarets had to settle for a share of the spoils with Norwich City who were able to record their first point this season.

The Clarets have a record of three draws and four defeats in the league this season and they have had a problem of putting the ball in the back of the net since the new league season started. New Zealand striker Chris Wood is the main man in the Burnley attack but he has struggled for goals this season. The New Zealand national team player has one goal in nine matches in all competitions this season including seven matches in the league.

Burnley began the season with two successive defeats against Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool before they picked up their first point of the season with the 1-1 draw at home to Leeds United. The draw with the Whites was followed by two straight defeats against Everton and Arsenal. The home defeat to Arsenal preceded the 2-2 draw at the home of Europa League campaigners Leicester City. New Zealand player Chris Wood was one of the Burnley goalscorers as the Clarets recorded their second point of the season.

Burnley secured their third point of the season with the draw with Norwich City and it was enough to move them above Newcastle United on the log. The Clarets moved from second bottom to third bottom with the point from the Norwich City game.
